What happens to my ‘stuff’?
Here at Made Home, we are passionate about creating beautiful spaces that bring a sense of calm and relaxation. You would be amazed how our subconscious is impacted by our external environments, and how they can be affected either positively or negatively by what we see around us. We all have that drawer (or cupboard… or room!) that stresses us out; it’s chaotic and a shambles - our “storage space”. Once our team have spent some time working magic in those areas for you, the peace that comes afterwards is almost tangible.
One of the missions that we at Made Home hold at our core, is working at reducing waste, extending life cycles and minimising our global footprint. So when we come into your space and declutter your drawers, sort your stuff and beautify your belongings, we are intentional, systematic and methodical in how we categorise everything you need removed from your home.
Our specialists will move at the pace most comfortable for you, to work through the excess; all the while sorting as we go.
But what happens to all the excess? All those things that we’ve pulled out of drawers, out of cupboards and decided to keep/sort/recycle?
Firstly, anything that is staying, will be neatly returned to their rightful homes in a way that is clear and makes sense to you. If you would like us to arrange new storage systems, we are more than happy to oblige.
Recyclable items will be properly split and grouped, and taken to the necessary recycle centres. Got a mountain of old papers? No worries! A huge pile of textiles? We’ll take it! Even your old electricals and unwanted toys can be broken down and reused.
Items that you wish to donate, will be dispersed between the numerous charities and missions that we partner with. And if you have items of value that you wish to sell, we can take care of that for you, too.
If time is not on our side and we need to remove things from your space as quickly as possible, don’t fret - this sorting process will still take place, just offsite. We will take all your things back to our sorting facility where we will ensure due diligence is given to maintaining this procedure.
Although we love a trip to the tip, we are rarely there for reasons other than recycling.
And the very best thing? Once the sorting has happened, you don’t have a single thing further to worry about. Everything you’ve decided to farewell will leave your home at the end of each session, and you’ll see the immediate change to your space, each day that we work together.
The only thing left for you to do, is make a cuppa and enjoy your refreshing, clear new space, and rest easy knowing that your ‘stuff’ is in caring hands.
