Take 5 with… Ellie!

Doing all that we can to support our clients through monumental moments, to allow you the headspace to navigate all else that is happening in your world; this is our driving force.
A key part of this equation is ensuring we have a team of like-minded individuals who share our heart for those around us.
Today we would like for you to meet our treasured Ellie, not to be confused with the other tall blonde in our midst (Ella). A creative, a wordsmith, a boy-mama and a genuine heart of gold, Ellie is both an adventurer and a homebody who brings a calming presence to any situation.
What’s the best concert you’ve ever been to?
I’d have to say Coldplay in 2012. Just such an amazing show and band. The vibes were high!
Tell us about your favourite holiday/trip.
This is a tough one. I’ve had some incredible experiences traveling! One of the most memorable would be a 3 month trip my husband and I took right before we had kids to Scandinavia. We left our phones, laptops, digital cameras & all electronics at home (we did bring one dumb phone to make calls on!) We packed a few film cameras and a lot of film and embraced slow travel. We did 3 countries, one per month. Iceland, Norway & the Faroe Islands. We stayed with locals, did some work on farms and hotels and really immersed in the culture. We also only had one backpack each including a tent! We hiked & camped for a lot of the trip (in some INSANE weather). It was a wild experience that I’ll never forget.
Would you say you’re more of an extrovert or an introvert?
I’m an introverted extrovert ha! I’ve never been able to figure it out. I would say more extrovert, but I need particular people to get energy from. If it’s a large party setting, I tend to become introverted, but sit me down with a small group of special people and I’m alive! Would much rather that than be alone.
What’s the last TV show you binged-watched? And would you recommend it?
Currently binging The Office for the millionth time and it just never gets old. I will laugh forever at it. 10/10 recommend, duh!
If you could be any kind of animal, what would you be?
I’ve always said I’d be a sloth because I love sleep and as a mum of three little boys, it’s hard to come by 😉
Are you a book reader? What are you currently reading?
I’ve always wanted to be a reader but I’m just not!!
What is something exciting that’s on the horizon for you?
We’re currently on the hunt for a new home and that’s very exciting for us!! But honestly just life in general I find very exciting. I love watching my kids grow and being the one to guide and love them. The greatest joys I find are in the simplest, smallest moments.
What were you doing for work before you joined MH?
I was full time mum! I had 2 boys under 2! Before that I was doing freelance photography which was super fun. Family stuff, lots of children’s photography and some travel photography as well. I also worked in advertising looking after social media accounts for our clients!
What has been your favourite type of MH work to date?
I’ve always loved the styling jobs. A chance to be creative is so fun. But some days you just want to move and not think too much! So packing can be really satisfying for that. Taping up boxes is very rewarding ha!
In your opinion, what is it that makes MH so unique?
Our genuine care for each client. We take time to go at their pace and understand that sometimes these transitions can be very hard and overwhelming. We are there to walk people through it with love. I think we’re pretty special.
