Meet Ella

Take 5 with… Ella!

Bringing people into your home to help prepare it for sale, or to sort through spaces that are bursting with “stored items” can seem quite daunting at first. You may feel like you need to prepare in some way, or do a bit of a tidy before the tidy. Sure, if you really feel the urge to do that, then you can - but we’re here to tell you that the main thing we will be looking for when we come into your home, is how best we can look after you, and how we can serve your vision. So in order to ease that process, we’re taking a moment to chat with each of our lovely team members, so that you already feel relaxed and familiar with who we are.

Today we would like for you to meet the delightful Ella; our resident pottery powerhouse, the one who always has the best tunes at the ready and never leaves home without packing a cheeky snack.

If you could live anywhere in the world, where would it be?

The North Shore of Hawaii. I’m so happy by the ocean, with the breeze in my hair and the sun on my skin.

If you could only eat one food for the rest of your life, what would you choose?

I would happily eat Avo on toast for all my days, as long as I could be guaranteed that avocados would always be in season, and perfect inside (none of this ‘surprise brown when you open it’ nonsense). I’m pretty thankful for the Qld oversupply at the moment!

What song always gets you out on the dance floor?

Dancing in the Moonlight by Toploader.

What activity instantly calms you?

Making pottery. I have my own pottery business (aside from my studies and working at MH), that I love to sell online and at local markets.

If you could spend time with three people from history (dinner party/ coffee/ entire weekend staycation), who would you want to meet and why?

I’d organise a weekend staycation (on the North Shore of Hawaii) with Princess Diana, Aretha Franklin and Steve Irwin. I’m sure that after a couple of G&Ts, Diana would be ready to spill the beans on all the Royals. Aretha would be singing in the shower and Steve would be jumping on the backs of turtles and teaching me excitedly about the local wildlife.

Share with us how long you’ve been with MH and what your favourite part of being on the team, is?

I’ve been part of the team for 2 years now, it’s gone very quickly! I really enjoy working with such a beautiful bunch of ladies who started out as work colleagues, but now I consider them all life long friends.

In your opinion, what is it that makes MH so unique?

I love that no job is too big for us. Whatever the situation may be, we rise to meet it. It’s a great feeling to exceed our clients expectations when we’re working with them, particularly with our broad range of services and the thoughtful way in which we carry them out.

What do you love most about working at MH?

It’s deeply satisfying to know that our presence and our process make life so much easier for our clients.

What has been your most rewarding MH moment?

Each job is rewarding in it’s own way because each job is so unique. But I’d have to say that helping clients through a tough moment and seeing the joy on their face on the other side - that’s a great feeling.

What’s one thing you wish you’d known before starting work with MH?

I wish someone had told me not to bother keeping my gym membership! This job is such a workout, but in the best way!

Thank you Ella, you’re such a valued part of our team (and we love your dance moves!) If you’d like to know more about how Ella and the team can help you with your next move, please reach out and have a chat today.
